The deal and the play moves clockwise. To select a dealer before the game, each player should draw one card from the card deck. The player with the lowest card becomes the dealer.

So, how do you play the card game Golf?
The game begins with the player left of the dealer; the play proceeds clockwise. Before the match, players can look at the two cards nearest them.
As a player, it is the only time that you can look at your cards. You may only look at a card during play when discarding it or during scoring. If you peep at your card during gameplay, it should be discarded.
For every turn, a player may draw a card from the deck or draw pile. You may replace any one card in your layout with the drawn card from the pile. However, you cannot look at the face of the card that you want to replace nor the one that you just drew if you have decided to use it.
If you have decided to replace your original card in the layout with the one you drew from the deck, you may hold the replaced card face-up and discard it.
You may also pull a card from the draw pile but decide not to use it to replace any card in your layout. You can hold it face up to see the face of the card.
You and the other players may also pull a card from the discard pile during a turn. Choose one to replace a card in your layout, then discard it.
Another option is to knock. After knocking, your turn is over. The game will proceed clockwise, giving other players get one more turn. The game ends here.
The gameplay can also end when a player gets rid of all cards from their layout. Or, when the deck runs out.
At the end of each game, flip each player’s cards to tally the scores.
- The number on each card is equivalent to a score: Ace = 1 point, Two = 2 points, so on
